This cable is longer than most of the available cables. I was looking for a longer cable. This cable also easily connects to my Ipod touch with the Griffen case on it. The older cable was a tight fit. The connector on this cable appears to be slightly longer. I am using it on an Ipod Touch 2g.

It's not a bad charger, but it doesn't really fit a 8530. If I saw how it fits a 8630, I would never have purchased it. Not the vendor's fault, it's design isn't great.
