It charged my EVO at a slow rate compared to the wall charger. If I used the phone while plugged in to this car usb then it only act as a Power supply, it wouldn't add any to the battery charge. Worst of all I bumped it once and it initiated self-destruct mode. It poped open and the small metal nipple on the end is now lost somewhere in my car seat-pan, without that piece it is useless. I strongly recommend stepping up to a better/higher priced model.

This is a great piece. Obviously, I am not having the same problems as other reviewers. I could have bought it with the change in my console. It recharges my iPod with no problem. Nothing worse thand plugging in the iPod and getting the "connect to power" warning. Not any more.

Used for LG VX8500 and VX 8575 (cell phones). Works great. Looks nice. Sturdy.
Used for 7 months and just ordered another one right now for another vehicle.
Not sure how a person could go wrong here.

My only complaints are:
* I received a black adapter which is clearly not the same one pictured. Even if it was white, it wasn't the same unit.
* The unit gets quite hot while charging my Motorola Droid. So hot that it's uncomfortable to hold after removing it from the plug.
Otherwise this does what it advertises and the price can't be beat.

I don't understand how this item is so cheap, but I'm trying not to consider the possibilities as this item is perfect for charging my GPS and iPods in the car. Unfortunately, it couldn't charge the iPhone.
